Drinks vary by region with favorites including refreshing Spritz featuring Aperol for sweetness, Campari for bitter and spumanti. Even in casual trattorias , dinner is typically a multi-layered event. Italians prefer all courses selected at once to properly prepare the kitchen, so choose an antipasto , then a primo , usually pasta or gnocchi. Take a deep breath and order secondo , a second course of meat or fish, and veggies or contorno , then sit back and await the food parade. No matter how full, never skip dessert.

This book offers such great advice and perspective to those of us who live in a world of go, go, go, constantly climbing the wall of success and whilst doing so finding ourselves more stressed out, anxious, tired and generally less happy. It took me a while to read it simply because I kept re-reading passages and taking time off to let the suggestions in teh book sink in.
